Why a swatch that looked right in the store goes wrong at home
A paint chip is judged under store lighting, and your walls never see that light. Florida sun is strong and changes hour by hour: warm and yellow on a west-facing living room in the afternoon, cool and bluish by a north window, and flat once the shutters are closed. The same grey can read soft in the morning and green by dinner.
Coastal glare and bright white trim make it harder still. A colour that looks gentle on a two-inch card can turn heavy across a whole wall in a West Palm Beach room with floor-to-ceiling glass. That gap between the chip and the finished wall is what most regretted paint jobs come from.
